About the Role

Direct Support Professionals at Citizens provide a variety of residential supports tailored to the level of support and supervision required by each individual, including Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA’s) and Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF’s).

Schedule

Sunday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM | 40 hours per week

Pay

Starting at $15.50 per hour and above, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Practice and promote Citizens' mission statement in every interaction.
• Support individuals to live the life they choose and become active participants in all aspects of their lives, including self-care routines (feeding, showering, dressing, diapering), health, safety, household chores, socialization, and overall well-being to maintain a high quality of life.
• Ensure a safe and clean home by assisting individuals with household chores and participating in them as needed.
• Successfully complete and maintain AMAP certification, and assist individuals with medication administration according to AMAP policy and procedures.
• Support individuals in preparing meals by teaching concepts such as diet adherence, portion control, and cooking skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
• Valid New York State Driver’s License that meets agency insurance standards.
• Successful completion and maintenance of AMAP status.
• Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information.
• Excellent team player with a positive attitude.
