About the Role

We are seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our dynamic team. As a DSP, you will play a critical role in ensuring individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) lead self-determined, meaningful, and fulfilling lives as they engage their communities in pursuit of a quality of life to which they aspire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, person-centered support based on each person’s unique skills, aspirations, and needs to help them lead self-directed lives and fully engage in their communities.
  • Empower individuals by supporting skill-building and personal growth in alignment with their Person-Centered Plans (PCP)/Individual Support Plans (ISP).
  • Facilitate opportunities for individuals to build social networks, pursue joy, fun, and careers, and participate in the communities where they live, work, learn, pray, and play.
  • Provide coaching and support for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) tailored to individual needs.
  • Ensure living and working environments are clean, safe, and meet the needs of individuals, including compliance with medical recommendations and care plans.
  • Adapt your approach as individuals’ needs evolve, serving as a key member of their support team.
  • Actively participate in cultivating a ‘culture of communication’ by sharing information with individuals, families, friends, and co-workers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; further education in human services or a related field is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
  • Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance and kneel to provide hands-on support.
  • Valid MD, VA, or DC driver’s license required.

Qualifications

All positions are contingent on the following requirements:

  • Drug Screen
  • Health Exam/Certificate completed with TB screening

Pay

Competitive pay ranging from $21.33 to $31.46 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
