Direct Support Professional

About the role

You’ll join a mission-driven team at Mentor Community Services, part of the Sevita family, providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is based in Wood River with a Sunday–Wednesday schedule from 3 PM to 7 PM, offering an hourly wage of $19.45.

As a caregiver, you’ll assist people with personal hygiene, support individuals with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and help participants achieve developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. You’ll also take initiative to help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene.
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
• Help participants achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition).
• Take initiative to integrate participants into the community and facilitate their favorite activities.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.
• Experience ownership and trust from leaders to do what’s right for participants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
