About Residential Service Systems: Residential Service Systems (RSS) is a program of Resources for Human Development (RHD) established in 1975 to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. RSS provides residential and community-based supports focused on helping individuals maximize their independence, quality of life, and involvement in their communities. As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll be an important part of creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where each person is treated with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the safety and supervision of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in community-based settings.
• Provide hands-on assistance, encourage greater independence, and help individuals achieve the goals outlined in their individualized plans.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, cleaning, shopping, and personal hygiene.
• Provide the level of assistance needed to help each individual maximize their independence and quality of life.
• Encourage individuals to develop new skills and work toward their personal goals.
