Direct Support Professional
About the role
Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) empowers individuals and strengthens communities through its mission. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll play a crucial role in achieving this mission by supporting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in completing daily tasks and pursuing their goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community
- Aid with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
- Support personal care activities such as bathing and dressing
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands
- Plan and organize schedules
- Document and report in the electronic health system of record
Requirements
- Entry-level, on-the-job training provided
- A high school diploma or GED
- Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols knowledge
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability
- Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn

- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
