Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow the client’s Individual Support Plan (ISP), and report back to the IDD Program Specialist
• Support individuals with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, personal care (i.e., grooming, hygiene), or transportation
• Encourage participation in social and community activities — shopping, social events, etc.
• Help people achieve personal goals and celebrate progress
• Promote choice, independence, and self-advocacy
• Accurately document care, activities, and progress
• Communicate with team members to ensure consistent, quality support

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; or completion of a state-approved training program; or demonstrate skills and receive a passing score on a written competency test
• Successful background check and required in-service trainings
• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, inspection, and registration
• Ability to work safely and respectfully in clients’ homes and communities
• Compassion, reliability, and a desire to make a positive impact

Pay

Starting wages of $18 - $20/hour (varies based on hours, service type, location, and experience).
