Direct Support Professional
About the role
ETTA, a respected non-profit agency serving the Jewish community in the Los Angeles area, is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and/or Independent Living Services (ILS) Support Staff to work with adult Village Residents who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Engage, guide, and inspire individuals in the I/DD community to increase community involvement, grow their social network, develop opportunities, and achieve their greatest potential and goals
- Provide one-on-one support to adult residents in the Pico-Robertson area and surrounding community
- Drive adult clients on a daily basis within the Pico-Robertson area and surrounding community
Requirements
- Must have some professional or personal experience assisting or supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities or other special needs
- Must be a licensed driver (for a minimum of three years)
- Must have an insured vehicle with your name listed as an authorized driver
Schedule
- Schedule 1: Mondays – Fridays, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Schedule 2: Mondays – Fridays, 4:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Schedule 3: Fridays, 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Schedule 4: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Schedule 5: Mondays – Fridays, 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Schedule 6: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.
Experience
- Some experience working with or supporting an individual with a disability—whether professional experience (paid or volunteer) or personal experience (family, friend, co-worker, etc.)
Training
Paid in-person training is provided at ETTA headquarters in North Hollywood. Availability for weekdays/daytime hours is required for approximately 3–6 days of training.
