Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux in Belle Mead, NJ, you will work with dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

Responsibilities

• Ensure individuals are safe and healthy while attending the day program.
• Supervise, coach, and assist individuals in achieving daily living skills goals (food preparation, cooking, cleaning, shopping).
• Supervise planning, implementation, and documentation of programs to meet social, emotional, physical, and personal needs.
• Plan and participate in community‑based jobs, volunteer opportunities, and outings.
• Schedule and transport individuals to and from the day program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid non‑provisional driver’s license.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to attend ten days of paid onsite orientation on weekdays.
• Empathetic with a team approach to care.
• Adherence to Devereux’s zero‑tolerance policy for abuse and cooperation with authorities.

Pay

Starting salary of $20.42 per hour, with increases based on education and experience.
