Direct Support Professional

Verland is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join the team at our ORC House in Natrona Heights, PA. In this role, you will provide exceptional care and ongoing support for individuals with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record observations and daily progress notes
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable means of transportation
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions
• Must pass a complete background check, physical, and drug screening

2 weeks of paid training is provided to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene, and each individual’s support plan or personal development goals.

Schedule

• Part-time: 16 hours per week
• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday
