About the role
As a DSP, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them live independently and maintain a high quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Personal care and housekeeping services
- Assist the residents in developing or executing independent living skills
- Provide written and/or electronic communication
- Accompany residents to appointments, via van transport, when necessary
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse range of individuals
- A demonstrated customer-service approach to work
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to self-motivate and effectively manage time and shift priorities
- Ability to effectively communicate with the resident and provider
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English in order to ensure accurate communication and documentation
- Must pass a background check and meet other employment requirements
