About the role

Bridgewell strengthens communities by providing social and human services to empower people with disabilities and other life challenges. Services include community housing, day programs, outpatient treatment, recovery services, education, and employment training. Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance to people in residential programs with skills training in all activities of daily living.
  • Create opportunities and support people in our services to make decisions and foster independence.
  • Support people in our services according to regulatory standards and Bridgewell policies.
  • Manage medical, clinical, and financial needs of people in our services.
  • Transport and accompany people in our services to and from medical, recreational, and other activities.
  • Maintain daily progress notes, shift checklists, and other required documentation.
  • Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Conduct steady care calls as per guidelines.
  • Aid people in accessing community resources and recreational opportunities.
  • Administer medications according to MAP regulations.
  • Maintain all mandatory training certifications and additional certifications as required.
  • Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the program's Fire Safety Officer, Safety Coordinator, or Human Rights Officer.
  • Comply with Bridgewell Safety Checks Policy.
  • Attend and participate in program staff meetings and supervision meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, with at least 5+ years of verified experience in the same position.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft products and web-based applications.
  • Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van and hold a valid US driver's license with at least one year of driving experience.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of employees working in residential programs include maneuvering people of varying weights, providing lifting, balanced support, and physical intervention in a few scenarios. Employees must be able to climb stairs, physically assist people served, often weighing more than 200 pounds, with movement, bathroom routines, and handling assists that include physical, behavioral, and medical interventions.

Pay Range

The hourly rate range for the Direct Support Professional 1 (DSP 1) positions is 20.12-21.23 per hour, with specific rates listed for each department.
