About the role
Bridgewell strengthens communities by providing social and human services that empower people with disabilities and other life challenges. We deliver support through various programs including community housing, day programs, outpatient treatment, recovery services, education, and employment training. Responsibilities
- Provide support and assist people in our services with skills training in all activities of daily living.
- Create opportunities and provide support to people in our services to make decisions and foster independence.
- Support and assist people in our services with medical, clinical, and financial needs.
- Transport and accompany people in our services to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.
- Maintain daily progress notes, shift checklists, shift assignments, and other required documentation.
- Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
- Conduct all steady care calls as per guidelines.
- Aid people in our services with accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.
- Administer medications according to MAP regulations, if applicable.
- Maintain all mandatory training certifications such as FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.
- Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the program's specific Fire Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator or Human Rights Officer.
- Comply with Bridgewell Safety Checks Policy.
- Attend and participate in program staff meetings and supervision meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5+ years of verified experience in the same position.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy to include proficiency in Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.
- Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van and hold a valid US driver's license with at least one year of driving experience.
- Ability to lift and move people of varying weights, and provide lifting, balanced support, and physical intervention in a few scenarios.
Physical Demands
- Moves and lifts people of varying weights.
- Provides physical assistance with bathroom routines, entry and exit of a tub or shower, getting into and out of wheelchairs, and handling physical, behavioral, and medical interventions.
- May be required to lift and move additional items as part of activities in the daily living of people in our services.
- Ability to drive a 12-passenger van.
Pay
The hourly rate range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
