Direct Support Manager (QIDP): OIDD - Whitten
Job Responsibilities
Under The Direction Of The Residential Director, This Position Serves as the Direct Support Manager/Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) of an assigned residential area of an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD.
Serves as the primary point of contact for residents, their families, and guardians, ensuring they receive comprehensive care and support.
Maintains thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of services provided, ensuring compliance with Agency and Office written rules, regulations, and policies.
Develops and implements training programs for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to enhance their leadership and supervisory skills.
Engages employees through open dialogue and clear communication to foster trust and improve job satisfaction.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the residential area, ensuring that staff schedules meet the needs of residents and adheres to safety protocols.
Monitors and evaluates the performance of DSPs, conducting annual performance evaluations and addressing any issues promptly.
Maintains regular communication with guardians and advocates, reporting significant events and ensuring transparency in the care provided.
Ensures that the residential environment is safe, orderly, and conducive to the well-being of residents, promoting a positive living atmosphere.
Reports incidents and suspected abuse immediately according to Agency and Office policy and procedures.
Performs additional duties as necessary to support the residential area's operations and residents' needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field including, but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, Registered Nurse licensure, or Doctorate of Medicine Osteopathy.
- Two years of related experience providing professional or direct services, including at least one year of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing the care of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to perform basic administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
- General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities and the ability to communicate effectively with them and their families.
- Physical ability to work in a home-like or group home setting, including lifting and moving residents as necessary.
- Ability to supervise and train DSPs, fostering a supportive and professional work environment.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00 per hour.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed to support resident care and operations.
