Job Responsibilities

Under The Direction Of The Residential Director, This Position Serves as the Direct Support Manager/Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) of an assigned residential area of an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD.

Serves as the primary point of contact for residents and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary services and interventions to meet identified needs.

Maintains thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of services provided, ensuring compliance with Agency and Office written rules, regulations, and policies.

Develops Direct Support Professional III leadership and supervisory skills to enable effective training, supervision, and retention of assigned personnel.

Engages employees to build relationships that foster trust, open dialogue, and clear responsibilities.

Manages and oversees one or more residential buildings, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and coverage to support consumer needs.

Monitors staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and conducts monthly Individual Support Plan (ISP) training for staff, providing additional training as needed.

Completes annual performance evaluations for Direct Support Professionals and maintains ongoing communication with guardians and advocates regarding significant events.

Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean environment for residents, reporting significant events and suspected abuse immediately according to Agency and Office policy and procedures.

Performs additional duties as necessary, promoting a supportive and inclusive community for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field including, but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, Registered Nurse licensure, or Doctorate of Medicine Osteopathy.
  • Two years of related experience providing professional or direct services, including at least one year of experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
  • Ability to perform basic administrative tasks.
  • General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices.
  • Ability to accurately communicate.
  • Ability to utilize a computer.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, reach, and walk.
  • Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting or ICF.
  • Physical ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
  • Ability to supervise subordinates.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
