Direct Support - East Meadow (Day Shift)

Devereux - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. The East Meadow program serves boys 7 to 15 with ASD, ADHD, and various cognitive disabilities. With a 1 staff to 3 students ratio, this program offers a high level of individualized care.

About the role

As a Direct Support/Care Professional, you will be passionate about working with and helping youth. You will work in a fun, fast-paced, and supportive environment with opportunities to learn and grow in the Behavioral Healthcare field as part of an interactive team that includes nursing, education, therapists, psychiatrists, and other professionals.

• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.12 to $24.58 per hour depending on experience and education.

Schedule

This position is located in Rutland, MA. The available schedule is Monday-Friday 7am-3pm.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
