About the role

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance through a network of independent insurance agents and direct-to-consumer channels. The Direct Sales Agent Specialist (Direct Auto Insurance) role is within the Allstate business.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sales and understand customers' needs to build rapport and trust.
  • Build and retain a book of business within the market/retail location.
  • Sell to walk-in customers, market products outside the office via marketing calls and in-person visits, and create community relationships.
  • Achieve and exceed sales goals through new product sales, cross-sell, and retention of customers.
  • Leverage community contacts and natural market to build a sales pipeline and active physical presence in the community.
  • Initiate outbound calling to established target customer base for product offerings.
  • Maintain awareness of key competitors in the local market area and suggest improvements to the company's position.
  • Work with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes to achieve production and growth goals.
  • Deliver optimal results within appropriate metrics, including quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance, including compliance with all rules, procedures, and standards.
  • Understand and promote company underwriting guidelines, announcements, and memos related to changes in company policies and procedures.
  • Receive customer payments, issue receipts, and verify reports of receipts for cash drawers.

Qualifications

  • 0 – 2 years of experience in P&C licensing (preferred).
  • Successfully closes sales of insurance and ancillary products.
  • Maintains and expands a book of business through new product sales, cross-sell, and retention of customers.
  • Monitors key competitors and suggests initiatives to improve the company's position.
  • Works with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manages customer payments and verifies receipts.

Skills

  • Compensation: Unlicensed candidates earn $20.00 per hour, while licensed candidates earn a base hourly rate plus uncapped monthly incentive.
  • Base hourly rate: $20.00 (unlicensed) / $30.00 (licensed).
  • Incentive pay: Commissions and bonuses based on individual and team performance.

Base hourly rate: $20.00 (unlicensed) / $30.00 (licensed).
