Responsibilities

• The Direct Loan Specialist I manages the intake and processing of all consumer loan applications originated by the Credit Union.
• The role requires knowledge and adherence of internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and a strong understanding of all loan products and services.
• The Direct Loan Specialist I is responsible for managing inbound Member phone queues as well as providing support to all Credit Union branches.
• This position also reviews and verifies all supporting loan documentation, analyzes credit reports, and prepares loans for closing.
• The Direct Loan Specialist I is responsible for setting up all Consumer Loan closings, prepare all remote sign sessions as well as the funding of all direct loan types.
• This position prepares email and mail communication, handles member consultation, ensures compliance to all lending regulations, and builds relationships with Members and Branch Associates.

Working Conditions

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
• Ability to sit for extended time periods
• Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
• Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
