About the role
The Maryland Department of Health is seeking multiple full and part-time Court-Involvement (CI) positions across various facilities. Positions are available in Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD; Eastern Shore Hospital Center, Cambridge, MD; Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA), Baltimore, MD; Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (RICA), Rockville, MD; Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville, MD; Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD; Thomas B. Finan Center, Cumberland, MD; Potomac Center, Hagerstown, MD; and Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) Program, Hagerstown, MD.
Responsibilities
- A Direct Care Trainee CI assists in the care, treatment, habilitation, or rehabilitation of mentally or physically ill patients or developmentally disabled clients in State treatment facilities or community-based programs.
- Employees in this classification do not supervise other positions but receive close supervision from nursing staff or another designated healthcare administrator.
- Positions may be assigned to day, evening, night, or rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Employees are subject to call-in and overtime based on staffing needs.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Experience: None.
- Certification: Must possess and maintain a current certificate as a Nursing Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Nursing OR complete a Board of Nursing approved Nursing Assistant training program and receive certification within sixty days of hire.
- Special Requirements: Successfully complete an in-service training program approved by the hiring facility prior to permanent appointment.
Qualifications
- License: Possession or obtaining a Geriatric Aide certificate may be required for some positions.
- Vehicle Operation: May be required to operate a motor vehicle, requiring a valid Maryland driver’s license.
- Training: Must successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
