Direct Care Supervisor (DOH/LLCP #14933+)

Salary: $30.11 - $45.16 hourly ($62,624 - $93,936 annually). This position is a Pay Band C8 and may be used to fill multiple positions.

About the role

This position directly oversees and manages various homes that provide services to individuals who are developmentally disabled. The House Supervisor functions as a supervisor to lower-level Direct Care Staff and ensures the health and safety of the individuals served in their assigned home.

Responsibilities

• Assign staff assignments and audit documentation.
• Provide training to staff and observe resident behavior.
• Participate as a member of the Individual's Interdisciplinary Team.
• Provide highly skilled services to individuals who are behaviorally and/or mentally ill and who may cause injury to themselves or others.

Schedule

LLCP has three shifts: 12am–8am, 8am–4pm, and 4pm–12am. Positions will be assigned to one of these shifts and require working weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and four years of experience related to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling four years may substitute for the required experience.
• Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
• Current Defensive Driving Certification from the State of New Mexico or ability to obtain one as a condition of continued employment.
• Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) course.
• This position is designated safety-sensitive; employment is subject to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and is conditional pending results.

Ideal Candidate Experience

• Supervisory experience.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Experience working with individuals who are mentally and physically disabled and/or display behavioral challenges.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an office setting and in community-based homes.
• Ability to lift/push/transfer/carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 100 pounds with assistance.
• Exposure to unpredictable violent behavior of individuals.
• Daily driving is required to meet the needs of individuals served; occasional overnight stays may be required.
• Specific geographic location varies depending on agency needs.
• Extensive use of Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, and phone.
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching are essential functions of this job.
