Direct Care Supervisor

About the Role

Lifesteps, a non-profit human services organization serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years, is hiring a Full-Time Direct Care (Community Homes) Supervisor to oversee a Residential Group Home in Delmont, PA. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong desire to help others and serve the community. The goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by assisting them to live as independently as possible in their home and community.

Responsibilities

• Overall management and handling of day-to-day operations of the Residential Community Living home
• Direct supervision of community home staff, including scheduling, training, and performance reviews
• Oversight of care provided to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
• Assist with caregiving duties as needed
• Documentation, including fire drills, client progress notes, and medication administration

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in a human service, direct care, caregiver, TSS, Home Health Aide, C.N.A., DSP, or related position
• Current driver’s license
• Obtain Medication Administration Certification within 6 months of hire
• First Aid/CPR certified within 6 months of hire
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or move up to 200 lbs. with assistance

Preferred:

• Associate Degree or equivalent credits (60) and 2 years of experience in a human service or caregiving field
• Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience in a human service, social service, or related field
• Degrees in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Transition Programming, Nursing, Health Administration, or similar fields

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, primarily working the Daylight shift of 7 am to 3 pm with one 3 pm to 11 pm shift per week. On-call duties are required.
