Direct Care Registered Nurse

Overview

The City/State is Norfolk, VA. Sentara Gastroenterology Specialist is hiring a Direct Care Registered Nurse. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered to qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process.
• Maintain standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
• Comply with standards of professional performance such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Maintain any specialty-specific requirements, including ACLS (within 1 year of hire), PALS (within 6 months of hire), and other relevant certifications.
• Maintain all required licenses and certifications, including BLS (within 90 days of hire).

Requirements

• 2-year RN associate degree required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• RN licensure required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

Education: 2-year RN associate degree required. BSN or MSN preferred.

Certification/Licensure: RN licensure required. All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Experience: 1 year of nursing experience preferred.

Skills

Must be able to meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialties, including ACLS, PALS, ONS/ONCC, and other relevant certifications.
