About the role

Direct Care Monitors are responsible for:

  1. Maintains and observes clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  2. Provides motivational support and guidance to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals.
  3. Reports client observations and contributes to treatment decisions concerning therapy, discipline, and privileges.
  4. Makes sure clients are properly medicated and collects urine samples for laboratory screening and administers breathalyzer tests for alcohol use.
  5. Schedules and coordinates client transportation, assists in planning interactive events, and performs other tasks related to treatment plans.
  6. Ensures security for the medical building.

Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Any and all work experience is encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in corrections, security guard, security officer, home health aide (HHA), direct support professional (DSP), caregiver, or substance abuse counseling is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence and good driving record required.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Able to work overtime and occasional weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk or move about facilities for up to two hours at a time.
  • Ability to speak with others to exchange information and provide support.
  • Ability to proofread and check documents and files for accuracy on a regular basis.
  • Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises.

Compensation

$18.00 per hour with a shift differential of an additional $.50 per hour while working the hours between 10:00pm-6:00am. Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
