About the role

Direct Care Monitors are responsible for monitoring and observing clients, ensuring their safety and well-being, and providing motivational support and guidance to assist them in meeting therapeutic goals. They report client observations and contribute to treatment decisions concerning therapy, discipline, and privileges.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and observe clients, ensuring their safety and well-being

  • Report client observations and contribute to treatment decisions concerning therapy, discipline, and privileges
  • Monitor clients in medication self-administration
  • Collect urine samples from clients for laboratory screening
  • Administer breathalyzer tests to clients for detection of alcohol use
  • Support treatment plans by scheduling and coordinating client transportation
  • Assist in planning client interactive events
  • Provide security for the medical building

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Any and all work experience is encouraged to apply
  • Experience in corrections, security guard, security officer, home health aide (HHA), direct support professional (DSP), caregiver, or substance abuse counseling is a plus
  • Must be able to respectfully interact with substance abuse clients and form a working therapeutic alliance
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence and good driving record required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk or move about facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
  • Ability to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide support
  • Ability to proofread and check documents and files for accuracy on a regular basis
  • Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises

Pay

  • $18.00 per hour
  • Shift differential of an additional $.50 per hour while working the hours between 10:00 pm–6:00 am
  • Annual performance reviews with merit increase eligibility determined by employee performance and organizational financial performance

Schedule

  • 3rd shift – 9:30 pm–6:00 am
