About the role

Join RTR and help individuals with developmental disabilities live safely, independently, and meaningfully in a residential setting. You'll work closely with the Residential Manager and team to provide hands-on support, skill-building, and daily care that improves quality of life.

This is a highly active, hands-on role that includes supporting individuals in both the home and community. Responsibilities may involve personal care, behavioral support, physical assistance, and maintaining a structured living environment, including household and occasional safety-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and skill-building in daily living activities
• Assist individuals with personal care needs such as hygiene, meals, dressing, and mobility
• Support participation in community activities, appointments, and social events
• Provide transportation as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
• Complete daily documentation and shift reports
• Administer medications following established procedures
• Implement behavioral support plans and trained safety interventions when needed
• Support individuals with medical appointments and related documentation
• Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing development
• Provide coaching and support to new staff as directed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or non-degreed persons with a minimum of one year direct experience in human services
• Valid Driver's License
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
• Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration
• Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies

Skills

Language Skills

• Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
