About the role
Join RTR and help individuals with developmental disabilities live safely, independently, and meaningfully in a residential setting. You’ll work alongside a Residential Manager and team to provide hands-on support, skill-building, and day-to-day care that makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support, instruction, and supervision in daily living skills
- Auxiliary individuals with personal care, routines, and independence-building activities
- Sustain accurate documentation, shift notes, and program records
- Administer medications following proper procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
- Support transportation and community access
- Implement behavioral supports and trained safety interventions when required
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing staff development
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Education related to a field such as: psychology, social work, special education, or related human service work preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
- Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community
