About the role

Join RTR and help individuals with developmental disabilities live safely, independently, and meaningfully in a residential setting. You’ll work alongside a Residential Manager and team to provide hands-on support, skill-building, and day-to-day care that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support, instruction, and supervision in daily living skills
  • Auxiliary individuals with personal care, routines, and independence-building activities
  • Sustain accurate documentation, shift notes, and program records
  • Administer medications following proper procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
  • Support transportation and community access
  • Implement behavioral supports and trained safety interventions when required
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing staff development

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Education related to a field such as: psychology, social work, special education, or related human service work preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
  • Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration
  • Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Skills

  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community
