RTR is offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus for new full-time hires! This is an exciting opportunity to start in a brand new Residential Program located in Brockton, MA.
Schedule
- Sunday – Thursday overnights: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- One staff meeting per week (day/time to be determined)
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with the Residential Manager to provide support, evaluation, and treatment to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- Perform case management duties for an assigned caseload
- Write monthly progress notes, Individual Support Plans, assessments, objectives for annual reviews, and all other paperwork related to caseload as requested by the Residential Manager
- Attend and participate in all meetings and chart data collected from programs regarding individual(s)
- Assist with development of behavior plans or other intervention strategies
- Instruct, supervise, and evaluate individuals in all areas of community living as outlined in each support plan and record data on all instructional programs
- Implement all behavior plan interventions as assigned, which may include physical restraint
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and provide transportation as required by the program
- Assist individuals in scheduling and attending medical appointments and appropriately document, including covering shifts off-site and during hospital stays (e.g., Boston)
- Administer medications, as required, in accordance with medication administration procedures
- Assist and support individuals with scheduling and attending social and leisure activities such as family gatherings, religious celebrations, community events, and social gatherings
- Maintain residence and yard in clean, orderly condition as outlined by the Manager, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning floors, bathrooms, laundry, and keeping lawn clear of trash and debris; also responsible for keeping steps, walks, paths, and ramps clear
- Actively assist and support individuals with personal care responsibilities, which may include diet, exercise, meal preparation, bathing, shaving, dressing, and toileting
- Assist and support individuals with physical direct care, which may include physical or mechanical transfer of individuals from wheelchairs to van, chair, or shower
- Adhere to all established lines of communication, dress in a professional manner, and represent a positive and proactive attitude with coworkers, families, and referral agencies
- Write reports, including daily shift reports, and other required documentation utilizing professional and appropriate documentation skills
- Attend all required meetings and adhere to all program routines and the schedules and needs of individuals under supervision
- Participate in on-the-job training and provide coaching to new co-workers as directed
- Adhere to agency safety standards
- Perform additional duties or substitute for others as required, including in other programs
- Adhere to all RTR policies and procedures
- Develop and provide all services in accordance with RTR’s philosophies, including staff and Board beliefs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; education related to psychology, social work, special education, or related human service work preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
- Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency-mandated trainings, including medication administration
- Must authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
Skills
- Fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear
- Occasionally required to taste or smell
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Reasoning Ability
