DIR MAJOR GIFTS INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY GIVING

About the role

The Director of Major Gifts, Individual and Family Giving, is a key front-line Foundation fundraising leader responsible for the planning, development, design, and implementation of gifts programs. This position is accountable for meeting ambitious and increasing financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage a team of fundraisers to successfully meet annual goals; this team is anticipated to grow in the future.
• Serve as the department service line liaison and main point of contact for all Department Chairs.
• Maintain productivity and accountability by developing effective strategies, and metrics in conjunction with the EVP, developing work plans and tactics, ensuring they are executed successfully.
• Manage their own portfolio of prospects, which may include all levels of prospects, including those at the Principal Gifts level, and lead by example in closing gifts to support institutional priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Preferred Education: Master's Degree
• Minimum Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years non-profit fundraising experience, to include the following:
• Five (5) years leadership experience, to include managing no less than two (2) Major Gift Officers or equivalent
• Five (5) years' experience in cancer fundraising
• Demonstrated track record of closing five, six, and seven figure plus gifts
• Five (5) years' experience within a complex medical research institution
• Minimum Skills/Specialized Training: Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, exceptional planning and execution skills, personal gravitas and maturity to deal with major donors, excellent team leadership skills, proven ability to meet ambitious financial goals
• PREFERRED Experience: More than 8 years development experience in a healthcare organization
• PREFERRED Skills/Specialized Training: Experience in a grateful patient fundraising setting.
