About the role
The Medical Records Director at Alliance Health Center is responsible for planning and managing the department's activities in compliance with hospital, state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements. They analyze the quality of medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy, facilitating reimbursement and continuity of patient care. Additionally, they provide expert consultative services to hospital staff regarding medical records.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes the quality of medical records to ensure inclusion and completion of required information for reimbursement and continuity of patient care.
- Provides expert consultative services to hospital staff regarding medical records.
- Fulfills the department's activities in accordance with Alliance Health Center's philosophy and objectives.
- Ensures adherence to hospital, state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management preferred; Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology (AS/RHIT).
- 2 years supervisory experience in Health Information Management field.
- Prior experience in a psychiatric mental health setting preferred.
- RHIA Registered Health Information Administrator credentials preferred.
- Knowledge of health information management and health care delivery systems, medical and psychiatric terminology, confidentiality and release of information laws, leadership skills, and various computer and word processing programs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management preferred; AS/RHIT.
- Experience: 2 years supervisory experience in Health Information Management field. Prior experience in a psychiatric mental health setting preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: RHIA Registered Health Information Administrator credentials preferred.
- Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of health information management and health care delivery systems, medical and psychiatric terminology, confidentiality and release of information laws, leadership skills, and various computer and word processing programs.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
