Responsibilities
- Oversees the management of an internal team engaged in development and support of contract management.
- Performs duties typically expected of a director, including performance reviews, project planning, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and process improvements.
- Oversees the process for identifying short and long-term objectives and developing comprehensive strategies to achieve them.
- Serves as a point of contact and collaborates with other departments to successfully administer GEO’s contracts.
- Assists and supervises the review of responses to proposals and new contracts to identify potential issues and company responsibilities.
- Works with the company’s finance team to assist in the collection of outstanding accounts receivable.
- Communicates with clients to address contractual concerns, strengthen client relationships, and build trust in the company.
- Serves as a point of contact to regional offices and facilities.
- Assists in the department’s annual budget.
- Directs development and preparation of tracking reports and other reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Eight (8) years of progressive experience in a professional level capacity with exposure to procurement or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of federal acquisition process, government contracting principles, and governing regulations (Federal Acquisition Regulation).
- Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet critical deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of contracting principles.
- Experience in management and administrative procedures, with strong analytical and writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make presentations to diverse audiences.
- Regular travel with overnight stays required.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
