Dinner Server

About the role

Guide guests through the menu, take and process orders, and ensure a high standard of service and presentation. Create moments for our guests as they experience Hive.

Responsibilities

• Have extensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings; guide guests through the menu, answer questions, suggest items, and up-sell.
• Take and enter orders into the POS system accurately; check IDs for guests under 30.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including discounts and guest information.
• Ensure food and beverage quality meets guest expectations; package and deliver take-home items.
• Communicate guest feedback and complaints to management.
• Ensure tables are set with polished glassware, flatware, china, and napkins; keep tables and surrounding areas clean.
• Respond quickly to spills; manage table configuration for party sizes, perform pre-bussing, and restock as needed.
• Follow sanitation and safety standards; practice safe food handling, storage, and equipment maintenance.
• Complete required training; maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance.
• Produce accurate orders and meet sales goals; develop repeat guest relationships through excellent service.
• Protect company assets with accurate cash handling and safe practices.
• Demonstrate teamwork, communication, and adherence to cleanliness and safety standards.

Requirements

• Professional communication and social skills.
• Basic math and computer skills; ability to read and understand English.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for 5–7 hours.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle additional tasks as assigned.
• Flexible scheduling required, including weekends and holidays.
• Awareness of potential hazards (cuts, burns, slips).
• Ability to work closely with other staff and adapt to a dynamic environment.
