Dining Services Director

About the role

Spring Gardens Assisted Living in Orem, UT is seeking a full-time experienced Head Chef to make an immediate impact in our residents' lives by providing delicious food and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manages food supplies and personnel to ensure operations are performed efficiently within established budget and in compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations and Five Star policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Manage, schedule, evaluate, and direct the kitchen staff.
• Ensure a sanitary dining room complying with all health and safety codes, licensing regulations, and policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food.
• Supervise and direct the cleaning of all dining and food services.
• Develop and implement training, policies, and processes to ensure kitchen staff members are properly groomed, dressed, and using proper etiquette and manners while serving tables courteously.
• Survey residents to determine their satisfaction levels with the service provided and make corrections as necessary.
• Assist Servers, Cooks, and other Dining Services associates in their job duties and assume their activities when needed.
• Ensure that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Supervise the tracking of resident attendance at meals and communicate to designated associates those residents that have not come to the dining room for a meal (for a safety check).
• Aid in community marketing efforts through positive interactions, dress, and behavior.

Qualifications

• A passion for excellence.
• Be a progressive and creative thinker.
• Culinary Degree desired.
• Experience working in Senior Living Food and Beverage.
• Manager experience.
