As a Dining Services Associate you will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety of the dining operations. The Dining Services Associate will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement! The individual will focus on our Core Values: Safety, Sanitation, and Excellence. All of our associates will work hard to improve our systems and overall operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Scrapes, cleans, sanitizes, and replenishes all dishes, silverware, cups, glasses, pots, and pans etc.
- Properly stores all clean items.
- Operates dish machine or pot machine and is responsible to record proper temperatures and correct levels of chemical sanitizers according to regulations.
- Loads and unloads dish machine.
- Disposes of food waste and trash both front of house and back of house as needed.
- Sweeps and mops all floors and walk in refrigerators.
- Separates recycling from trash.
- Assists in receiving, storing, transporting and stocking of food and nonfood items.
Minimum Qualifications
- Work Skills: Basic reading and writing skills; basic communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Practices excellent personal hygiene habits and follows and adheres to uniform standards.
- Ability to: follow directions and complete assigned tasks, work with minimal supervision, and to interact with people on a constant basis.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Tool, machinery, and equipment used: knives, slicers, and all kitchen equipment.
- Environmental conditions: chemicals used for cleaning, weather exposure for special events.
- Physical requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 pounds independently, ability to withstand extreme temperatures.
