Dining Room Supervisor ~ Senior Living ~ Las Vegas

Provide high-quality meal service; organize, supervise, and train dining services employees; and maintain a sanitary, infection-free environment. This position carries the responsibility for executing assigned duties in accordance with current federal and state regulations and established company policies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise food service and assist as necessary, ensuring presence in dining rooms for full meal service
- Assist and coordinate special functions and corporate meeting food service
- Attend daily manager stand-up meetings
- Maintain high sanitation standards
- Oversee bistro areas, including food presentation, cleanliness, and supplies
- Ensure all required supplies (tablecloths, napkins, silverware, etc.) are ordered for dining rooms
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of beverage equipment in dining rooms and bistros
- Control labor costs and schedule dining service employees
- Visit residents to gather information on food preferences
- Maintain records such as meal census, diets served, and weekly staffing patterns
- Hire, provide orientation and training, evaluate, and supervise dietary department employees within budget
- Ensure wait staff are informed about daily specials and their preparation
- Review resident diet information and care plans; discuss with residents, families, nursing staff, and consultant dietitian to make appropriate changes
- Supervise cleaning procedures to maintain safe and sanitary conditions in the food service department, including kitchen, dining room, and bistros
- Collaborate with other departments within the building
- Ensure hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold
- Instruct new residents on meal schedules, coffee availability, etc.
- Participate in safety meetings, including infection control and safety committee functions
- Cover shifts as needed when short-staffed or employees call in
- Perform other duties as specified by the Executive Chef or Executive Director
Requirements
- Demonstration of core values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect
- License/Certification: Dietitian, ADA, Diet Technician, chef, and/or dietary manager meeting current state regulatory requirements
- Minimum high school diploma
- Previous experience in the dietary department of a healthcare facility or restaurant preferred
- Ability to read, write, and use mathematics and units of measurement
- Knowledge of menus, recipes, food purchasing, preparation, and storage
- Ability to supervise and manage, including knowledge of community policies, procedures, and job descriptions
- Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection control, health department, and OSHA
- Minimum three years' experience in senior living preferred; passion to work with seniors
- Previous experience managing an Assisted Living community preferred
