Responsibilities
- Ensures the dining room is set up properly and staff is prepared for service.
- Affirms adherence to policies and procedures by all team members.
- Creates relationships with all residents.
- Assists the Food & Beverage Director in department operations.
- Maintains the dining room and private dining room appearance.
- Enforces team member appearance standards.
- Performs duties of dining room servers in absence.
- Checks menu accuracy and reports issues.
- Presents food attractively and garnishes with appropriate condiments.
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and safety of dining room and service/storage areas.
- Conducts weekly Quality Assurance self-inspections with corrective actions.
- Maintains dining room schedules based on budget guidelines.
- Manages special events at a high level of service.
- Ensures high-quality resident service in the dining room.
- Develops and maintains relationships with residents.
- Responds to and resolves resident dining issues promptly.
- Attends resident council and food committee meetings.
- Completes mandatory monthly training and coaches staff.
- Conducts progressive discipline for team members.
- Observes and enforces departmental policies.
- Notifies Food & Beverage Director of supply, equipment, and issue needs.
- Bills all potential meals sold revenue accurately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Similar experience preferred.
- Teamwork and flexible shift ability.
- Knowledge of local and state health and sanitation/safety codes.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
- Training, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Professional attitude.
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Miscellaneous
- May have photo and image used in social media or community advertising.
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments.
- May work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- May work shifts other than the one for which hired.
- May work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
- May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C viruses.
- May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents due to mental status.
- Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required.
- May be asked to submit to random drug tests during employment.
