  • Develop and refine datum schemes, tolerance strategies, and sensor mounting approaches to support stable calibration and assembly.
  • Perform 1D and 3D dimensional variation analyses to assess design feasibility and identify risk areas.
  • Review and approve metrology fixture concepts for internal teams and suppliers.
  • Define measurement strategies and validation points from individual components through full vehicle assembly.
  • Partner with supplier quality and engineering teams to evaluate capability, address concerns, and support program targets.
  • Provide clear technical feedback to support vehicle architecture and assembly readiness.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in dimensional management, variation analysis, or metrology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Fixture Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 principles.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and improving complex technical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE for model interrogation and reference geometry creation.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and vehicle assembly sequencing.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control, standard deviation, Cp/Cpk, and gauge R&R studies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings clearly across teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting autonomous vehicle, aerospace, or advanced robotics programs.
  • Familiarity with sensor systems such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras.
  • Background in supplier collaboration and PPAP-related quality processes.
  • Experience translating dimensional data into actionable design or architecture recommendations.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent programs.

Pay
