Dimensional Engineer

About the Role
The Dimensional Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements on vehicle geometry through part, tooling, or design actions. The engineer will work with team members to analyze complex parts and sub-assemblies (sheet metal, exterior and interior) using various measurement systems (e.g., Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs, and In-Line Vision Stations).
Responsibilities
- Perform data analysis, often organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes.
- Work with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions implemented through data analysis.
- Proactively monitor trend charts and work with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics.
- Interact with suppliers, both internal and external, to communicate issues and drive resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- Proficiency in GD&T—knowledge about measurement and tolerance.
- Experience with Team Center and NX System (e.g., pulling CAD, cutting sections of parts).
- Proficient in reading measurement data.
- Knowledge of basic statistics and process control.
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
