About the Role
The Digital Software Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior strategic contributor who translates emerging field developments into tangible business direction. Operating as a recognized subject matter expert, this individual shapes technology and operational decisions across teams, functions, and select external partners. With commercial acumen, credibility, and influence, they drive significant delivery impact, shaping the performance trajectory of the broader sub-function.
Core Accountabilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex application development initiatives spanning cross-functional teams and concurrent workstreams, providing strategic direction.
- Own dependency management across the Digital organization to ensure coherent, coordinated application deployment at scale.
- Define and drive the overarching delivery strategy, orchestrating internal and external teams toward committed outcomes.
- Engage business and technical stakeholders in structured trade-off conversations, balancing effort, timelines, features, and constraints.
- Anticipate and eliminate delivery blockers, handle escalations with precision, and maintain forward momentum in ambiguous or high-pressure environments.
- Establish and publish clear delivery metrics (Design Reviews, Code Reviews, CI/CD adoption, Design Pattern adoption) for real-time transparency into delivery health.
- Maintain expert-level command of application development methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Guide teams in building systems with disciplined resource consumption, focusing on hardware, runtime performance, load tolerance, and memory efficiency.
- Serve as the primary engineering liaison to TPMs and Engineering Managers, providing visibility into schedule risk and driving continuous improvement.
- Navigate stakeholder tension, facilitate structured dialogue, and reach durable resolutions.
- Apply rigorous risk assessment across intake and delivery decisions, ensuring protection of Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Key Qualifications
- Track record of leading delivery functions across large-scale or multi-project technology portfolios.
- Deep grounding in application development methodologies (SDLC, Agile, Waterfall).
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into precise system specifications.
- Solid command of risk assessment, controls, and regulatory compliance in a complex enterprise environment.
Recommended Qualifications
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or senior-level experience in Enterprise Architecture.
- Expertise in technology patterns and techniques for Citi’s internal and external cloud platforms (AWS, PCF, Akamai).
- Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and networking.
- Experience with automating code quality, performance, unit testing, and build processing in CI/CD.
- Relevant technology and financial industry skills (AWS PWS).
- Understanding of NGA technology, including innovative approaches and opportunities.
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Pay
Full-time salary range: $138,720.00 - $208,080.00. Citi’s offerings may also include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
