Digital Producer / OBS/VMIX Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support live television and streaming productions through OBS Studio development and user training.
• Writes stories for the web and other digital platforms.
• Reviews copy and corrects errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
• Develops and maintains OBS/VMIX Studio scene collections for users.
• Programs and maintains Stream Deck controller to integrate with OBS/VMIX operations.
• Operates OBS and/or VMIX during live news broadcasts daily.
• Trains staff on basic and advanced OBS/VMIX functions, including scene creation, source management, profile settings, and hardware operation.
• Prepares OBS/VMIX for live productions, ensuring equipment is operational and ready for air.
• Collaborates with Executive Producers, Anchors, and Engineering staff to ensure smooth execution of broadcasts.
• Troubleshoots OBS/VMIX, Stream Deck, and related production equipment issues.
• Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills

• Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred.
• Experience with OBS Studio and Stream Deck programming.
• Knowledge of live television production and studio operations.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and training skills.
• Able to work effectively in fast-paced live production environment.
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferred.
• CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills is a plus.
