Role Responsibilities
- Operate and complete all digital printing (B&W/Color) production for maximum production efficiency.
- Assist in the large format department with installations & production work when available.
- Imposing files for print & running USPS mail software.
- Works with Production Scheduler to prioritize and manage daily job production.
- Produces orders accurately, efficiently, and quickly while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Updates job status and location in MIS system.
- Always runs a proof copy and compares it to the work order.
- Controls waste and redos by quality-checking jobs as they are being produced.
- Completes Quality Assurance documents for all printed jobs.
- Tracks waste, spoilage, usage, and inventory for all digital printing machines.
- Maintains all Digital Printing Equipment logs.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Performs all required maintenance and learns extended maintenance from the technician.
- Sets up and calibrates printers and color-matches projects against client's Pantone colors / previous jobs.
- Manages the service and maintenance of the machines as needed.
- Ensures that all service “clicks” are credited by the service technician in each call, including credit for poor-quality copies.
- Calibrates and manages all color devices as required to maintain color consistency.
- Makes adjustments to color consistency during print runs as necessary.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of digital printing experience, preferably on Xerox presses and Fiery.
- Experience running Envelop presses.
- Ability to multi-task and organize several activities and tasks concurrently.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed.
- Ordering and maintaining paper, envelop stocks.
- Can perform basic bindery functions.
- Familiar and comfortable with Fiery Print Controller, a plus.
- Proficient with the use of Command Workstation (if applicable) to control digital workflow.
- Graphic design skills are preferred but not required.
- Customer service experience is preferred but not required.
