Digital Press Operator - Weekend Graveyard Shift, Friday to Sunday, from 5:00pm to 5:30am

About the role

We are seeking a Digital Press Operator to set up and operate the HP Digital printing press, producing pressure-sensitive labels and related products. This position offers onsite training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade in the printing industry with unlimited growth potential.

Schedule

Weekend Graveyard Shift, Friday through Sunday, 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality labels to meet job specifications and customer standards.
• Input data, including time and materials used, into job management software.
• Read job orders, load jobs into the press, fill ink cans and pumps with prescribed inks.
• Start the press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
• Adjust printing impression and run down approval strips.
• Cut samples of approval strips, inspect for imperfections, and make adjustments as needed.
• Communicate job-specific information or changes to the supervisor to minimize production downtime.
• Report any production or press issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate inventory usage at all times.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required.
• Keep work areas clear, organized, and maintain housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of previous experience operating a press in a printing environment, preferably a digital press.
• Five years of experience running Films and Paper.
• Re-insertion experience is a plus.
• H.P. Operator Level 1 Certification.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.
• Regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• May participate in vendor-sponsored training programs.

Pay

$24.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
