Digital Press Operator

Georgia-Pacific’s Hummingbird facility in West Chester, OH is hiring Digital Press Operators for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Initial training may begin on 1st shift (7 am – 3 pm) before transitioning to the assigned shift.

Pay

$26.50 – $31.00 per hour base pay. 2nd and 3rd shift differential adds $2.00 per hour, bringing total pay to $28.50 – $33.00 per hour.

Schedule

• 2nd shift: 3 pm – 11 pm
• 3rd shift: 11 pm – 7 am
• Overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

About the role

Our team produces high-quality corrugated boxes on the first roll-to-roll inkjet web press in the U.S. We operate in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment where adaptability, attention to detail, and teamwork drive success.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operate equipment to defined standards and production specification targets.
• Set up and prepare each job on the inkjet web press to meet established specifications.
• Monitor the process and inspect the final product, identifying subtle differences in color, shading, and brightness to ensure quality.
• Document processes in computer systems, including consistent monitoring and data entry, to maintain equipment operation and product quality.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform adjustments accurately and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Operate and safely work around mobile equipment.
• Collaborate with the team to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Communicate effectively on shift with other operators and via email.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day in an industrial environment.

Requirements

• Experience working in printing or a similar industry, or as a machine operator.
• Experience working with computer systems in an industrial and/or technical environment.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and quality issues.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Digital and/or Flexo Printing Presses.
• Experience in corrugated packaging, folding carton, printing, or Point of Purchase (POP) display industries.
• Experience with reliability and Preventative Maintenance (PM) systems.
• Experience with print production processes and color theory.
