Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates equipment effectively with minimal downtime in the Press Systems area, including platemaking (prepress), main press, signature creation, and delivery to buffer.
- Diagnoses and repairs routine equipment issues and promotes preventative maintenance and adherence to equipment specifications.
- Elevates non-routine system issues to management and actively participates in problem resolution and repair.
- Provides backup support to the Sr. Process Technician during press operations without disrupting the process.
- Communicates verbally and in writing about equipment, processes, maintenance, quality, staff, and other operational issues to the Sr. Process Technician.
- Collaborates within the team to set an example for continuous process improvement, safety, and housekeeping.
- Encourages collaboration and individual accountability within the group to ensure error-free first pass quality and minimal rework/waste.
- Participates in training programs and follows a planned program of continuous learning to maintain and enhance job skills.
- Reports all injuries and unsafe conditions, coaches fellow employees on safe work practices, and contributes to the company's safety program.
Requirements
- Twelve to twenty-four months experience in a printing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- MBO and Bograma experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and analyze technical documents.
- Ability to apply basic math concepts.
- General knowledge of Windows Office.
- Ability to lift/move up to 40#.
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladders and consistently work at varying heights.
- Work in a noisy area using hearing protection.
Qualifications
Twelve to twenty-four months experience in a printing or manufacturing environment is preferred. MBO and Bograma experience is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to read and analyze technical documents, and general knowledge of Windows Office are also important. Must be able to lift/move up to 40#, stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and work in a noisy area with hearing protection.
