About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking an Operations Christmas Child (OCC) Digital Media Specialist to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role supports the social media strategy and content creation for the OCC initiative, advancing the Gospel through digital media.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • Support the OCC social media strategy and content creation across Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube, including curating, planning, drafting, and scheduling content.
  • Manage the day-to-day calendar of social media content and review scheduled content for grammatical accuracy and tracking purposes.
  • Research, source, and obtain digital consent for fan content across all platforms, assisting with an existing database of quotes, photos, and potential social content.
  • Engage with social media comments and direct messages using approved response guidelines.
  • Create, edit, and develop videos/graphics for social channels, primarily for vertical reels and story content.
  • Provide weekly social media performance reports, including engagement and trends.
  • Support the management of Facebook Groups, including member requests, group rules, moderating responses, and sharing content.
  • Assist with peak-of-season social media correspondence.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and hands-on experience managing major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X) and online community/group pages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write engaging copy, proofread content, and ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, and messaging.
  • Experience with social media analytics, including monitoring impressions, engagement, reach, and performance trends to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
  • Experience creating and editing photo and video content for social media, with a creative approach to developing engaging marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Strong attention to detail and general knowledge of social media trends, tools, and industry best practices.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); opportunity to complete this requirement is available upon hire if not already met.

Pay

Full-time position.

Schedule

  • Travel Expectations: 15 days annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States. Fluency in English required.
