About the role

The Walker & Dunlop Digital Infrastructure Advisory team is seeking an Associate to join the New York office. The team focuses on capital formation and strategic advisory for data center and digital infrastructure clients, having executed over $40 billion in transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver pitch materials and offering memoranda for data center & digital infrastructure transactions, including research, financial modeling, and developing transaction narratives.
  • Perform complex financial modeling of property level cash flows and debt/equity structures using market information, appraisals, and leasing/comps data to underwrite a variety of transactions.
  • Review and understand relevant documents (leases, power agreements, loan documents, joint venture agreements, appraisals, etc.) to quickly identify relevant information.
  • Network within the industry via meetings, events, and involvement in industry trade organizations.
  • Track and maintain a database of transaction comps and identify new business opportunities.
  • Participate in weekly pipeline meetings to discuss deal flow, deal status, market conditions, and review new client leads.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in accounting, advisory, investment banking, lending, or principal investing.
  • Transactional experience in data center, digital infrastructure, and/or real estate preferred, but not required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent financial modeling skills, including thorough knowledge of Excel and ARGUS (a plus).
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and strong time management skills to prioritize tight deadlines.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Proactive, anticipatory, and able to interface with clients including top-level executives.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing, and communication skills; able to communicate analytical and marketing data effectively.
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Pay

This position has an estimated base salary of $100,000 - $125,000 plus discretionary production incentives.

Schedule

Attendance is generally 9:30 am – 6:00 pm EST Monday through Friday in the office.
