About the role
The Digital Imaging Assistant is a part-time, fixed term position with an expected employment period of one year, from July 2026 to June 2027. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Special Projects, with direct oversight from the Image and Licensing Specialist, the individual in this position is responsible for supporting necessary metadata updates within Dia Art Foundation’s NetX DAM system and assisting the team in establishing sustainable ongoing workflows for all imaging data needs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Review existing backlog image uploads for accuracy and completeness of data; identify, research, and update missing image details, liaising across relevant departments to ensure information is correct
- Denote images of interest to the appropriate departments during review process
- Prioritize and upload backlog images pending inclusion in NetX system while ensuring complete metadata
- Maintain current and new uploads relating to incoming installation and event images while ensuring complete metadata
- Afford support to the Archives, Curatorial, Marketing, and Communications departments with NetX- and metadata-related requests as needed and directed by the Image and Licensing Specialist

Education, Certification And Experience
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in licensing, archives, or publications
- Experience with DAM research and imaging rights a plus
- Education or experience in visual arts a plus

- Demonstrated ability to work independently with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across stakeholders
- Demonstrated problem-solving, critical-thinking, and systems-management skills
Working Conditions And Physical Demands
- This is a part time hybrid position requiring in office hours at Dia Chelsea
- Significant computer work, which may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting, and sustained visual and mental applications
