About the role
To perform paraprofessional duties assisting the Digital Evidence Unit (DEU) with reviewing, redacting, and compiling digital media captured by State Police video and audio equipment in compliance with Division policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
- Education and experience must be in the fields of mathematics, data processing, business administration, or a related field.
- Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Windows OS and video editing.
Responsibilities
- Reviews audio and video media captured by State Police sworn personnel via body-worn and cruiser cameras and performs redactions required for editing and compilation used as evidence in criminal cases.
- Accurately labels cases in compliance with established protocols to ensure future searches yield comprehensive results.
- Utilizes vendor application software and tools to examine data interfaced with external network systems and categorizes information for analysis.
- Assists with composing, proofreading, redacting, and organizing reports to satisfy RSA 91-A requests and provides responses in a timely manner.
- Prepares reports and summaries of caseload, including queued and processed requests, and presents to supervisor for decision-making related to reportable activities, workflow, training needs, and establishing priorities.
- Responds to inquiries from Division members and conducts informational and operational training in the use and maintenance of equipment based on standard operation protocols.
- Assists with creating and maintaining procedure manuals for systems, equipment, and troubleshooting as reference resources to staff to ensure consistency in processing and compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
