Digital Engineering Technologist (Engineering Technologist 1/2)
About the role
This position is open for external candidates only to apply. The Product Realization and Reliability Office (PRRO) in Nuclear Production Operations consists of a multidisciplinary group of engineers and scientists that support plutonium programs (i.e., pit production, surveillance, research & development, and subcritical experiments) across the entire Nuclear Production Operations organization. The PRRO Office is seeking a digital engineering technologist to support standardization of process and data usage in support of factory floor improvements.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the development of continuous improvement opportunities that leverage digital engineering capabilities
- Sustaining migration of current engineering practice into information-centric systems and demonstrating the full usage of those systems
- Sustaining capability leads in exercising specific digital engineering capabilities from concept through to production implementation
- Supporting nuclear production workforce in using digital engineering capabilities (PLM, RMS, MBSE, etc.)
- Supporting requirements gathering and user feedback collection from nuclear production workforce
Requirements
- Strong documentation skills; demonstrated ability to document technical results in a formal method/format
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one engineering software tool set (e.g. CAD, PDM, requirements management, modeling & simulation)
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which typically requires US Citizenship
Qualifications
- Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or related degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
- Education/Experience at the higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related degree and 5 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

- Familiarity with formal requirements management systems (e.g. DOORS Next Generation, PTC CodeBeamer), product lifecycle management systems (e.g. Windchill, TeamCenter), or MRP systems
- Experience with Confluence and Jira
- Strong presentation skills
Pay
Starting salary range: $87,800 - $143,000
Depending on the skills of the selected candidate, the position may be filled at either the Engineering Technologist 1/Engineering Technologist 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate.
Schedule
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.
