About the role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Digital Design Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This position requires obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design high speed digital circuits and perform signal integrity analysis.
  • Focus on electronic systems and electrical design, simulation and verification/validation testing of high-speed printed circuit boards (PCB) throughout full product development cycle.
  • Provide design guidelines and support for system architecture design, board layout, product bring-up, debug, validation, and factory builds.
  • Develop design verification plans and perform system integration.
  • Perform circuit analysis and digital circuit design in LTSpice or similar tools.
  • Perform post board layout signal integrity analysis and digital high-speed design verification and validation including measurements.
  • Mentor others and guide them in digital high-speed design and analysis.
  • Operate as electrical lead to coordinate the rest of the electrical design team for complex custom electronic systems.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Years of related experience: 3+ for level 3, 5+ for level 4.
  • Experience in digital circuit design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in high-speed digital circuit design with ability to perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards like 100G Ethernet, DDR3/4, PCIe.
  • Experience in processor board design or complex digital design including processor or FPGA System on a chip (SoC).
  • Familiar with high-speed serial interface protocols like Ethernet, PCIe.
  • Experience in FPGA sizing and power to support board design.
  • Strong understanding of PCB design for manufacturing (DFM).
  • Experience in schematic capture using Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Expedition Tool.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and related work experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, though not required.

Pay

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

  • Level 3: $112,200 – $151,800
  • Level 4: $136,850 – $185,150
