Digital Control Systems Engineering Manager
About the role
The Digital Control System Engineering Manager leads and develops a project team responsible for design, integration, and testing of Grid Automation projects. This includes SCADA, Substation Automation, Integrated Energy Management Solutions, Substation Networks, and Cybersecurity solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage engineering team, define strategy, set KPIs
- Ensure high standards in project engineering, efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Track and manage resource utilization in conjunction with PMO
- Develop Substation Automation Services offerings
- Support bid and project execution phases
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, project management, and supply chain
- Drive design standardization, digital engineering tools, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
- 8+ years in electricity and automation engineering, including distribution automation, substation digitization, diagnostics, APM, device management, and cybersecurity
- 5+ years managing engineering teams
Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to travel 30% in the US and Canada
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Professional Engineering License
- Knowledge of cyber asset protection regulations affecting the utilities industry
- Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Previous work experience in multi-cultural environments
- Proven Leadership under project structures
- Strong business acumen, execution-driven, process-applied, PM metrics, teamwork
