About the role

FAME is seeking a highly creative and collaborative individual to join our marketing team. The Digital Content Specialist develops, creates, prepares and is responsible for the day-to-day management of FAME’s digital content across email, social media, and web channels.

Responsibilities

  • Turns approved messaging, campaign priorities, and program information into clear, accessible, and engaging content that supports FAME’s marketing goals and serves Maine audiences effectively.
  • Ensures content is accurate, effective, and on brand.
  • Serves as a key steward of content quality, tone, and accessibility, partnering closely with Marketing Campaign Officers and Digital Marketing Specialists to support integrated, data-informed marketing efforts.
  • Requires strong editorial judgment, comfort working within structured systems and workflows, and a collaborative mindset focused on clarity, trust, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of professional digital content experience.
  • Strong editorial judgment, comfort working within structured systems and workflows, and a collaborative mindset focused on clarity, trust, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience creating content for email and social channels.
  • Familiarity with content management and digital publishing tools.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within structured workflows, approvals, and governed systems.
  • Experience in photography, videography, video editing, and graphic design preferred.
  • Experience in public-sector, education, financial services, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation environments from a content execution perspective preferred.

Pay

$55,000 - $58,000 Annually

Schedule

Primarily based in our Augusta office, with the ability to work remotely after initial training and orientation.
